IBACS Film Series

In the Spring of 2016, I was approached by a colleague at the Institute for Brain and Cognitive Sciences (IBACS) at UConn with the idea of making a series of short films profiling scientists working at the Institute. The scientists were interested in these films primarily for the sake of marketing and promotion; they hoped that the films would help publicize their work and stimulate further interest among various stakeholders. For my part, I was interested in the experience of making the films; I knew that many scientists fail to appreciate the complexity of making even informational shorts like these, and I was curious about how this process might change their thinking about how hard this work can be. The scripts for these pieces were co-written by myself and the profiled scientists, and the pieces were shot with a team of students in our studios on campus.
